December 2012

Time marches on….and a significant birthday in 2013 means it’s a time to think about putting my feet up and snoozing in the armchair all day OR continue to develop and expand Write Good Books publishing. On reflection, the latter seems the best bet, and so December is a busy month.

The first job in hand is a brand new website. The old site has worked fine for the past couple of years. It’s simple format meant it needed a minimal amount of work, apart from the odd update as authors asked for their books to be promoted. The new site which I am designing is currently in ‘development’ stage and will certainly be a massive step up from the old one. It should be ‘live’ by the end of the month packed with lots of goodies, free advice, offers, and of course the links to my author’s books.

Web design for authors is something I’ve dabbled with in the past but never really promoted, due to the fact that there are literally zillions of web designers out there (good and bad – you get what you pay for) to choose from. However, it can be a tricky business getting the right website without it costing an arm and a leg only to find that it’s  impossible to update and far too complicated to bother with. I’ve seen hundreds of websites exactly like that over the years……so I’m now offering all my authors the chance to have a simple but effective, value for money, website designed for them by Write Good Books.

Part of the reason for the new site is to include all the latest developments with our Kindle published books. It goes without saying that sales of the Kindle books is going through the roof…..both here in the U.K. and in the States and it’s a market that will continue to grow year after year. I’m pleased to say that quite a few of my regular authors have latched on to this new way of publishing and their Kindle books, published through Write Good Books, are now selling well. It’s still early days, and sales are not going to make us all millionaires overnight, but the online books will continue to sell and I expect to see some decent returns in the next year or so.

Right…back to work…

About writegoodbooks

I help new writers become published authors through self-publishing. I also offer writers the chance to have their work converted into Kindle eBooks and publish them on the Amazon Kindle store.
